The expansive, ever-evolving nature of Spring

For my friends in the Southern Hemisphere, you may be receiving that gentle nudge from the welcomed season of Spring; the longer days, balmier nights, birds out-and-about chirping, and abundantly green hues flourishing outdoors. The rhythms of Spring are infectious and this time calls for us to cultivate a renewed energy. Decluttering kitchen cupboards, eliminating toxic belief systems and getting out of any funk that has you feeling messy or stuck. Newness is welcomed within this period of our annual cycle, and I encourage you to let nature inspire you to make any changes in your world that has you leaning into your full potential.

Some of you may be across my intentions for the humble existence of my work baby; The Calm Down. For the bystanders, I have been passionately plugging away in the background in aims to create a hub for the corporate professional of learning and practice; a path to self-realisation and healing amongst a fast speed environment. It has been a beautiful and organic growth process, that has had me working intimately with many busy professionals both locally and globally.

However, just like that little nudge from nature, the demand and maturity of my expanding project, has required me to expand my team and proceed with 'next steps'.

I am so excited to welcome the newest team member to the schedule. I do feel this is the beginning of a really special chapter both for me and for this passion project.

Welcome Kara Ewen to The Calm Down

Kara has been teaching Yoga, Meditation & Breath-work for 4 years both in studios and privately. She is deeply inspired by how these modalities help us feel better, deal with stress and cultivate a sense of calm in our lives.

Kara has a background in high pressure working environments like hospitality venue management and recruitment, she has experienced how mindfulness practices can have a hugely beneficial impact on how we deal with stress in the workplace.

“Attuning to the sensations of the body through a mindfulness practice can create awareness of reactive thoughts & behaviours. Working with this awareness can create the necessary internal space to make calm, considered and affective decisions when it matters most”

I have had the pleasure of both working with and practicing alongside Kara for the last few years. Her ability to connect with people is what makes her work so impactful. I am so sure that you will love what she has to bring to your sessions.

Kara will be available for 1:1 Coaching, Meditation & Yoga online, from December 2023.
Bookings available now.
